Education minister Fadhlina Sidek said she instructed her ministry to look into the matter and urged anyone with information to lodge a police report. PETALING JAYA: Education minister Fadhlina Sidek has ordered an immediate halt to all school programmes involving a freelance speaker, following allegations on social media that he sexually assaulted students. "I have instructed that all programmes involving the freelance speaker concerned be stopped immediately to allow for a full investigation," she said in a statement today.

Fadhlina said the matter was serious as it involved student safety, and that she had instructed her ministry to look into it. She also urged anyone with information to lodge a police report. "Police reports are crucial to ensure that children receive the appropriate protection and support. The safety of the children in our care cannot be compromised," she said.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, teacher and social media influencer Fadli Salleh claimed that the freelance speaker had victimised students, including from Mara Junior Science Colleges and fully residential schools. He said he was informed that the Kedah education department had revoked the speaker’s permission to enter schools in the state and called on other state education departments to take similar action.
